I ate this fruit (Punica granatum) yesterday.

It's quite traditional here, and has various names: nar (from Turkish); šipak ("rose hip"; actually a completely different plant); mogranj etc.

But people don't eat it much here, most prefer apples and oranges...

My grandma bought a pomegranate! My infusion is tomorrow but after I come home we're gonna open it up and I'm going to try it. She said I'll probably like it because I like bitter candy. I can't wait to try it. Even if I don't like it, I can't wait to taste it and to see those gorgeous little seeds for myself!

Please, don't expect too much! Some of them are more sour, and some others more sweet. The seeds inside should be dark red. You should just cut the skin a little and then put it apart by your hands not to cut too many seeds.

Btw how much did it cost?

I didn't have high expectations, I was just excited to have something as uniquely beautiful as a pomeganate.

Gran said it cost about as much as a candy bar, so rounghly 58 cents or so.
