Colors of spring

View from my balcony — quite unexpected for a big city.

This image was shot on a lake in Zagreb, where swans are frequent and nuns less so.

Now, the idea is great. The result is very good, given the technical limitations of the lighting etc. I'm just sorry there are no...

Spring

Journal Entry: Wed Apr 15, 2009, 3:32 AM

Proljeće

So, as a flip of a switch, from winter and freezing temperatures to almost summer (+25°C and so) in a week — for a long time there's no proper spring (Croatian: proljeće) in my city, just three seasons: cold, hot and rainy.

There's not much to tell, my wife took two cats from the street and we're caring for them... today I'm off to a four-day vacation on the seaside (too early to swim, though), and we're taking them with us.

People I admire

There are some deviants here that took a very difficult task of learning Croatian (or a very similar language, such as Serbian or Bosnian). Now, there are other difficult languages to learn, but these offer no real gains — they are spoken only here, in a small corner of Europe, unlike Russian with a very big country and a lot of classics, our literature and country are small. So it must be enthusiasm, a real work of love.

~medvjedica is from Brazil. Her name means "she-bear" in Croatian (medvjed is "bear"). She does drawings and paintings, her works normally have Croatian, sometimes German names. Here are some of her works:

:iconsadaznam:

~sadaznam is from Seattle, Washington, USA. Her name means "now I know" in Bosnian (sada "now", znam "I know"; the same in Croatian and Serbian). She studies languages and does some excellent photography:

:iconflutterking:

~flutterking is from Greece, and he learned Serbian quite, quite well! About himself he says: "Flutterking [noun; non-declinable; Greek: Φλάτερκινγκ; Serbian: Флатеркинг] is a collective title for mentally challenged people who like to imagine themselves as Royal people when they lead a simple mortal's everyday life." And some of his works are...

I think there are some more people who make such adventures out there, sorry if I didn't include all!
